During Sheikh Hasina's long rule, concerns have repeatedly arisen about extrajudicial killings. The incidents of so-called "crossfire" or "disappearances" in security force operations have been repeatedly questioned by various international human rights organizations. Many families have alleged that many were taken away before legal proceedings began, and news of their deaths came later. An atmosphere of terror has been created throughout the country through extrajudicial killings.
