Freedom of Expression

During Sheikh Hasina's fascist period, the beginning of an era of ignorance was initiated by depriving freedom of speech and creating a protest-free environment. From BUET student Abrar Fahad to writer Mushtaq Ahmed, including journalists Sagar and Runi, were murdered. Terrible persecution was carried out on people of various professions including cartoonists, journalists, writers, and activists. Some returned after imprisonment and torture, but many could never return. Many were forced to leave the country.
